We live in a world where hackers can now extract sensitive information from compromised networks faster than I can find my TV remote control and internal IT systems struggle on an hourly basis to protect businesses from outside threats.

“It’s becoming clear that many of these emerging threats cannot be defended against in-house, creating a shift in security posture toward being more proactive” Christine Liebert Senior Analyst IDC.

The result is a move to externally-provided, real-time threat monitoring.

Building intelligence into networks, improves resilience for all users. It draws on enhanced situational awareness tools and Artificial Intelligence techniques (that can be maintained automatically by the system) to fuse and visualise vast amounts of data from different sources — detecting potential intrusions or hacking attempts in minutes rather than weeks.

To stay ahead of the curve, we’re upgrading our BT Assure Threat Monitoring service, making it simpler to identify and protect an IT infrastructure against security threats. Our newest upgrade will display intelligence and information from security devices on a customisable screen. This means that security professionals will see any potential risk immediately, and be able to identify and react to any risk in real-time and prevent any damage occurring.

The upgraded service will be available to all existing BT Assure Threat Monitoring customers at no additional cost, and comes as standard for new customers. The enhanced interface has been designed to help users assess any security concerns more accurately, allowing them to take advantage of technological developments, such as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and cloud computing. By bringing together critical information and displaying it in one place, it’ll give customers greater freedom to recognise threats and focus on delivering better business outcomes throughout their organisation.

This new upgrade allows users to customise their view with a new built-in rule feature, identifying threats, adapting and reacting quickly. An integrated ticketing system provides device and network management, as well as communications between the customer and BT Security Operations Centre analysts, making it possible to trouble-shoot any incidents quickly and accurately. BT Assure Threat Monitoring currently protects organisations in many areas of business, including banks and financial services companies.
